Hello and welcome to Purple Moon ISW. My name is Sarah Rogers, and I am a registered Social Worker.
Since qualifying in 2012, my career has been dedicated to working within Local Authorities, where I have held several statutory positions across Child Protection and Court Proceedings teams. This work has provided me with extensive experience supporting parents who face a range of challenges that may impact their capacity to care for their children.
Throughout my career, I have worked with children who have experienced significant neglect and emotional abuse, as well as those who have suffered physical or sexual harm. I have considerable experience supporting families with complex and multifaceted needs, including substance misuse, mental health difficulties, and domestic abuse—whether as victims or perpetrators. I am skilled in building positive, trusting relationships with parents and in facilitating open conversations to help them reflect on their circumstances, the impact on their parenting capacity, and the safety and wellbeing of their children.
My practice has also provided me with valuable experience in writing court reports and assessments, presenting evidence, and offering information to Family Law Judges when required. I take great pride in producing assessments that are balanced, analytical, evidence‑based, and completed within required timescales.
Given my extensive experience within court proceedings, I am highly skilled in assessment and care planning for children involved in both Care Proceedings and Pre‑Proceedings. My approach ensures that parents receive clear advice, guidance, support, and meaningful interventions—giving them every opportunity to safely care for their children before alternative care arrangements are considered.
